The Eastern Gippsland region of Victoria is one of the most beautiful parts of Australia, with the mountains to the north, the wonderful beaches to the south, and the wonderful Gippsland Lakes nestled in between. The region has a long forestry, fishing and pastoral history and during your travels you will see all of that and more. The lakes themselves are beautiful and a major tourist attraction and holiday destination. Many people chose to retire to the region as it is only four hours from Melbourne and a short distance from the snow fields.
We will be staying at the Esplanade Resort and Spa. You will enjoy an apartment with a separate lounge, a well-appointed kitchen, en suite bathroom, wifi, etc. There is a lift to access to all floors direct from the car parking, which is well away from prying eyes.
As with many accommodation venues these days, breakfast is not available on the premises. Everyone will be provided with a continental breakfast nose bag featuring bread, butter, jams, cereals, juices and milk. Freeze dried coffee and tea are provided but if you would prefer a real coffee, or a hot breakfast, cafes are but a short walk. if you have a coffee plunger and a special coffee you enjoy in the morning, then you may wish to bring it. Cafe purchases are at your own expense.
You're going to enjoy some wonderful diverse scenery, some excellent food and wines, marvellous roads and of course the best company you could hope to enjoy it all with. Come along and just relax.

Register and receive your nose bags! Relax before enjoying pre-dinner drinks with your friends before we travel to Lake Tyers by bus for dinner and drinks.
Day 2
Friday 26 April 2024
Have a sleep in, breakfast and a walk before we meet at 11:00 am for a cruise on the lakes to Metung where will have lunch before cruising home (Lunch provided with drinks at own expense).
In the afternoon you will have the opportunity to enjoy explore the waterside, beach or wherever your heart takes you. The lakes are beautiful and there is always lots to see.
In the evening we will enjoy dinner of the “Soda Fish” floating restaurant with meal and drinks provided.
Day 3
Saturday 27 April 2024
Have a sleep in, breakfast and a walk before we meet and head off for a drive through the local environment before stopping for lunch at The Buchan Hotel. We will then head back via Bruthen and afternoon tea in Paynesville.
We will then enjoy our gala dinner (including drinks) at “Bellevue on The Lakes” with fun and activities. As to what fun and activities, these will be revealed when you register, but "Rock & Roll" will be the theme so please drag out your Brylcream and Bobby Sox.
Day 4
Sunday 28 April 2024
After breakfast, we meet at “Albert & Co” to say our goodbyes before heading off on our way home.

Should you wish to join in, some will head home via Omeo and over the mountains into Bright where we will stay the night. At the time of writing, all the roads were in excellent condition and the scenery was brilliant. This is not part of the event, and will be arranged on an expression of interest basis in due course. Once your Gathering of the Faithful entry is received, further information will be provided to you.
