Our journey will start from Beasley’s Nursery.
Morning tea – Whittlesea. Visit the Whittlesea Bakehouse for an Award Winning sausage roll or something sweet.
After morning tea we visit the Living Legends. Living Legends is a non-profit equine charity located in Woodlands Homestead at Woodlands Historic Park, Greenvale.
The visit will feature a guided tour of the Legends (a 6 seat golf buggy is available for anyone with mobility issues), followed by a gourmet sandwich lunch at the homestead in a private room.
After lunch we head to the Lakeside Hotel in Bendigo where you’ll spend 2 nights in a king executive room, (including two full hot buffet breakfasts).
Dinner on Tuesday night is at the hotel so no need to travel anywhere except from your room to the dinning room, for a 2 course dinner, entrée and main.
Wednesday after a hearty breakfast. We visit the largest Buddhist stupa in the Western world. The Great Stupa is situated near Bendigo, is the same size and design as The Great Stupa of Gyantse in Tibet. It rises to a total height of 48 metres above Bendigo's distinctive bushland, and is 50 metres wide at its base. Tours are available for $12pp at own expense or just marvel the Stupa and its surroundings.
Then it’s off to Inglewood, known as the home of the 'Blue Mallee' Eucalyptus and is the home of Australia's largest Eucalyptus Oil Distillery, Bosisto's. The town was the largest producer of Eucalyptus Oil during the 1900s and is still home to two operating distilleries and the only Eucalyptus Distillery Museum in the country (Entry $5 pp).
After exploring Inglewood, head back to the Lakeside Hotel to prepare for dinner.
Wednesday night dinner is at the Woodhouse Bar and Grill. Since opening in 2012, and as the recipient of a variety of awards, The Woodhouse has been acclaimed by The Age Good Food Guide, Victorian Tourism Awards, Restaurant and Caterers Association Awards and others. A bus will take us to the Woodhouse Bar and Grill to enjoy a feast: pre-dinner snacks (3 types), starters (4 options), mains (4 options) with sides and deserts (3 options). Drinks at own expense.
Thursday: After your hearty breakfast you’re free to explore Bendigo or head straight for home.
